Idaho Crisis & Suicide Hotline – Our Story

Idaho Crisis & Suicide Hotline (ICSH) is the state's 988 call center, ensuring that no one in our state has to face a mental health crisis alone. Since 2012, we’ve grown from a grassroots volunteer effort into a professionally staffed, statewide crisis response hub—answering calls, texts, and chats 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Every month, ICSH responds to thousands of Idahoans in emotional distress, suicidal crisis, or substance use struggles—reducing strain on law enforcement, emergency departments, and inpatient care systems. Our services are free, confidential, and available to every Idaho resident, regardless of location or income.

In 2020, the National 988 Lifeline was established through federal bipartisan legislation, signed by President Donald J. Trump and co-sponsored by Idaho Senator Mike Crapo.

Today, ICSH proudly serves as the local 988 center for Idahoans. We deliver a strong return on investment through early intervention, public safety support, and crisis de-escalation and stabilization.

We are Idahoans serving Idahoans.
